There’s just no end to internet- and phone-based scams these days. This article describes a new method called “vishing” where the criminals call folks on their voice-over-ip phones (Vonage / Comcast / Skype /et al) and prompt the user to “call back” a toll-free number because of a problem with their credit card / bank [...]

Breckenridge Weekend
February 4, 2008
We traveled to Breckenridge, Colorado for a quick get-away on Superbowl weekend. Here’s what we found:
Beautiful, stunning mountain scenery
Mediocre to bad, expensive food (think $8 tuna sandwich and $25 dinner entrees served with paper napkins and placemats)
Terrible customer service (hotel and all restaurants/cafes)
Dive bars
Rowdy, drunk college students
Lots of vehicular traffic on all of the streets (with speedy [...]

Lee & Me @ The Four Seasons – Las Vegas
November 6, 2007
Here we are at The Four Seasons in Vegas a couple of days ago – going to see The Beatles “Love” show by Cirque de Soleil. Yes, I’m posting photos out of order here. And this is a really bad photo because I took it in the hall mirror and we were in a hurry. I’m on [...]
sensi @ Bellagio – Las Vegas
November 6, 2007
Let me sum it up in just a few words: Lunch good; dinner bad!
We had lunch at sensi in Bellagio right after we arrived since our room wasn’t going to be ready for several hours. The place looks fantastic with all interior finishes being organic (stone, wood, bamboo, water, glass). I say water because some [...]

It’s Vegas, Baby!
November 3, 2007
We’re in Las Vegas, staying at the Four Seasons (the top four or five floors of the Mandalay Bay Hotel) for a few days. Then, we move to Bellagio for another couple of days before heading back to Atlanta. Last evening, we dined at David Burke in the Venetian Hotel. Tonight, we will see “Love” [...]
Lemon Twist In Denver?
May 27, 2007
Apparently, bartenders in Denver don’t know how to cut a lemon twist for a martini. Maybe I’ll just ask them to give me a lemon and a knife and do it myself …
Note the raggedy lemon pulp on the “twist” on the left I received at the Hotel Teatro bar.
