We traveled to Breckenridge, Colorado for a quick get-away on Superbowl weekend. Here’s what we found:
- Beautiful, stunning mountain scenery
- Mediocre to bad, expensive food (think $8 tuna sandwich and $25 dinner entrees served with paper napkins and placemats)
- Terrible customer service (hotel and all restaurants/cafes)
- Dive bars
- Rowdy, drunk college students
- Lots of vehicular traffic on all of the streets (with speedy drivers paying no heed to pedestrians)
- Some photographic opportunities
- A fun, free gondola ride up the mountains
- Europeans
- Lots and lots of real estate offices
- Very few shops, art galleries and restaurants
- Total boredom if one doesn’t ski
