Yes, it’s true. Food Network is no longer about instructing people on how to prepare good food. Believe it or not, watching a skilled chef prepare a dish is entertaining to some folks. The channel has become the MTV of food. Just as MTV is no longer about music videos, Food Network rarely airs shows which really demonstrate how to prepare anything start-to-finish — certainly nothing in the classic style of Julia Child. It’s more about celebrity-chef contests, wanna-be celebrity chef contests and big boobs. I’m tuning out and going back to Julia’s cookbooks for inspiration.
