Holiday Potpourri Recipe

Make your home smell great during the holiday season by gently simmering holiday potpourri fruit and spice mixture on the stove.  I usually start using this potpourri mixture the week of Thanksgiving and keep using it through Christmas. After a few days the mixture will turn dark and begin to lose its smell — you’ll need to toss it out and make a new batch for the best scent.

Holiday Potpourri Recipe
Ingredients
  • 1 orange sliced
  • 1 lemon sliced
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 10 - 12 whole cloves
  • water
Instructions
  1. Place all ingredients in a medium sized saucepan and fill with water within one inch of top rim. Simmer on very low heat for a couple of hours, adding more water as necessary.
  2. Enjoy!
Notes
After a few days, throw out the mixture and make a new batch.
