Are those lowermybills.com idiodic dancing people ads driving you nuts?  Block them by adding the following line to your “hosts” file, which is located in the c:windowssystem32driversetc folder.

127.0.0.1 ad.doubleclick.net

The “notepad” program can edit the hosts file. Windows Vista users will need to run notepad in administrator mode since the system will not allow a non-admin user to save the file after it has been edited. In effect, the new host line tells Internet Explorer to redirect requests for the ad server (ad.doubleclick.net) back to your own computer (localhost) — where there is nothing to serve for the ad. Where the dancing ad used to appear and annoy the hell out of you, there will now be a somewhat cryptic message about page not found. But who cares? At least you don’t have to look at the idiotic dancing people anymore — at least until lowermybills.com changes the name of their ad server.
