The Ashley Wilkes cocktail in a martini glass in front of a bust of Augustus Caesar

A Southern Gentleman of a Cocktail

The Ashley Wilkes Cocktail is a refined Southern libation that combines the bold warmth of bourbon with the crisp sparkle and spicy flavor of Red Rock Golden Ginger Ale. Inspired by the genteel charm of Gone With the Wind’s most polished gentleman, this cocktail strikes the perfect balance between strength and sophistication.

Created by Robin Davis, this drink is elegant enough for your next soirée and simple enough to mix on a quiet evening at home.

Notes

Serving Suggestion

Serve in a martini glass for a classic presentation. The lemon twist adds just the right touch of brightness to complement the bourbon’s caramel tones and the ginger ale’s fizz.
Note:  Red Rock Golden Ginger Ale is essential to the flavor of this cocktail as it has a strong and spicy ginger flavor. If you can't find Red Rock, then Cock & Bull Ginger Beer is flavor equivalent for this recipe. If you can't find either of those, try Q Ginger Beer or Q Ginger Ale, but it won't be the same as using Red Rock or Cock & Bull.
