Here are some images from tonight’s delicious meal at Tables on Kearney in Denver’s Park Hill neighborhood.

First course:  DUCK CONFIT FLATBREAD, Caramelized ONION, ROQUEFORT, Spinach & ROSEMARY Vinaigrette – Deep, rich, savory flavors on the flatbread perfectly partnered with a wonderful high note of rosemary infused dressing on the spinach salad.  And then, there’s blue cheese!  Wonderful.

Second course:  Braised LAMB SHANK,Winter Spiced CAULIFLOWER, CRANBERRY Jam & Citrus GREMOLATA – comfort food for a cold snowy night at its best.  I was reminded of a Christmas dinner made even more special by the falling-off-the-bone lamb shank.  The spice was just right.  I always get the braised lamb shank when it is available at Tables — it never disappoints.

Dessert:  Carrot Cake, Mascarpone Cream & Candied Walnuts – What can I say?  It was the best carrot cake ever!  Moist, rich, crunchy candied nuts, and sublime frosting.  It just doesn’t get any better than this.

Footnote:  The flaky salt on the table (in the little jar) — addictive when a few flakes are sprinkled on their bread and butter.
